I got my supplies list for my Kimberly Einmo class that I’m taking in January. Decisions, decisions.
As far as fabric goes, I’ve got to bring 1 jelly roll, 1.5 yards of light colored background fabric, 1.5 yards of fabric for an outer border. That isn’t including the backing or batting.
I’m going to have THE hardest time deciding on a jelly roll for this mystery quilt for the class. Browsing on Fat Quarter Shop is making my decision even more difficult. I may have to go to my LQS and look there before deciding. Do I go batik or fun print? I just don’t know.
I really like this Honeysuckle Strip-Tease Bun by Island Batiks. But I also kind of like Fandango by Kate Spain and Green Tea Bali Pops. The instructions state that the jelly roll pack should have fabrics that contrast well. The pack should have a selection of lights, mediums and darks. Maybe Origins would work better? It looks like it contrasts really well.
I think whatever jelly roll I get, I’ll buy some sort of coordinating charm pack to do the alternate outer border in. I love those pieced borders where all the pieces are different colors.
