Free Pattern Friday

Amy Butler’s Sexy Hexy Love Quilt.  Pattern includes templates and instructions.

Amy Butler’s fabric is always fun to look at.  I think this is a really nice pattern you could use with a variety of fabrics though and still have it look great.  I don’t know why I love hexagons in quilts but I do!  They just look nice.
Help Me Pick an Icon!

As an aside – I’m thinking of doing a linkup to other blogs that want to participate in Free Pattern Friday and share free patterns that they love!  I’m making some icons – which one do you prefer?  Tell me if you hate both of them and I’ll make a new one.  It is hard to find a color that makes the text pop out enough on some of the stock photos unless I completely desaturate the photo.

  1. Beautiful! I bookmarked this one as I'd love to try it! I wonder if it is very difficult

  2. Magnolia… Would you be interested in swapping links? I added you to my Blog sidebar Let me know! lindsay.conner(at)gmail(dot)com

  3. I like the second one, but I agree . . . it doesn't POP exactly.

  4. @Skooks – Maybe if I do the text in black? I'm off to try out that option now and see how it looks.

@Lindsay – Sure! I've added you to the blog list on my side linky bar thingie. 🙂 Thanks for adding me!

  5. I'm sorry, but I don't care for any of the buttons. I think #1 is the best, because I can recognise the spools for what they are. The other two pictures are a little too fuzzy to be easily recognizable as quilts (although nobody familiar your blog would think they were anything else!), they just seem like abstract fields of color.

I'm not really fond of either font, but the way the end of Friday disappears against the light background in the first button is a problem. I think it would be better in black, but then other letters would disappear.

Gosh I hate being critical, but I do seem to be doing a lot of it, don't I?

I really think a picture of your own beautiful work – the pinwheel quilt, or either the daisy or jungle corgi wall hanings – would be wonderful as the backround. They're all so lovely.

  6. I like option #1!

  7. I like the first one on the left with the spools…it is easy to read plus I like the partial full spools.
