01 – Introductions

Well I’ve just spent the better part of 4 hours figuring out all this podcasting stuff. Editing the audio file took the longest then for some reason after it uploaded it sounded odd so I had to fix that. I think I fixed it.

iTunes hasn’t added my podcast yet to their listing but at least you have a way to listen to it now if you wish.

Will try again in a few weeks when I have more to podcast about. I’m not sure why I thought my first episode would be an hour long since I always seem to think of things to say but this one comes in at under 30 minutes. I guess that is good for my bandwidth usage though.

Churn Dash Block for Swap (they gave me the fabric to use for this). That one corner didn’t lay down for the photo but nothing is wrong with the block, it came out pretty good despite my issues.

Whew!  Now to grab some dinner before bed.

  1. Good on you Katie… I'm just about to download your first episode…

  2. I hope you like it! Let me know what you think or if there are any bad volume or sound problems.

  3. Hey Katie —

I'd love to listen to your podcast, but when I click on the link, I get an error message saying the link is "broken." Is there another link or another way for me to listen? Can't wait…..

  4. You can try the RSS feed and stream it until it is searchable on iTunes:

You should see the link on that feed for my Episode one, click on it and it'll play via Quicktime. 🙂 Hope that works!

  5. Hey Katie, Good job! I enjoyed it. Keep it up!

  6. Just listened to you podcast. You did a great job! Congratulations!

  7. Loved the podcast please keep at it. If you get a chance post to Big Tent and document some of your experiences for those of us who are TECH CHALLENGED and need a little explanation of how you accomplished your podcast. I have written notes there with the hope of inspiring others but I am totally non techy as you can tell if you ever listen to my pod cast or read my blog.

Can you embed a player on Blogger? I found I could load files to my computer to listen to then burn a disc. I found iTUNES does not like me when it comes to downloading files from there… but I am getting better.

Love your speaking style. Sound seemed balanced so it was easy to hear …. I am looking forward to you pod-casting in the future… even if you do not have too much crafty / quilty. I am finding that I have the time to quilt or the time to podcast ….. I can do one or the other but not both.

  8. Thanks Nonnie! I haven't completely worked out the Podcast kinks but I'm getting there. Once I do I'll post a detailed account of how I started a podcast for sure. Right now I think I've completely messed it up after deleting my Podcast feed on Jellycast :(( So…. this means I'll have to get iTunes to delete my feed on iTunes that they JUST posted and start fresh. I think I'll be switching podcast hosts once I can figure out the one I want to switch to.

All because I'm trying to avoid paying a monthly fee for bandwidth.

I'll get it figured out! And I know what you mean about either having time to quilt or time to podcast, too bad we can't podcast while we're quilting.

  9. Hi Kim – I just listened to your first podcast. Great job. Quilting and Corgis – oh my! I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi too. Keep up the good work.
