Free Pattern Friday

Are you following the Block-a-Palooza that is being organized by Quilt Dad?  If not you are missing out on some fantastic free patterns!

Two blocks a week are being posted and bloggers from all over the quilting blogsphere are designing and sharing some lovely free block patterns.

I think my favorite block so far is Block 6: You are Here –  the one created by Monica Solorio-Snow of Happy Zombie.  I want to do an entire quilt in this block. Just look at the gorgeousness:

The best thing about this block is I think it would work perfect for me to use the EZ Star and Geese ruler to make piecing super quick.  Might also use the pineapple ruler for the square in a square block in the center –  not sure.
Melissa over at Happy Quilting has completed all of the blocks so far and I loved the way her version of this block turned out!

16 blocks in total will be released and layout suggestions will be posted on March 24th.  Want to see more?  Take a look at the Flickr group!

  1. Thanks Katie for bringing to my attention these free patterns.

  2. Free Pattern Friday is a GREAT idea! I'd love to put one of your buttons on my blog to link to it. Perhaps you could make it interactive somehow? Like the W.I.P. Wednesdays, by getting people to post the free pattern they're working from this week…
