WIP Wednesday Roundup

I’ve made some progress this week on commissions!  The big one is almost ready to be basted.  I need to really press it good again after being wrestled through the sewing machine for the applique stitches, then piece the back together THEN baste it.  I’m just going to do straight line quilting on it.  The words are gaming tags/name for a gaming clan if anyone is curious.  🙂
My blanket stitch turned out better on this project than in previous ones.  I was going to do a zig zag stitch but decided to do a blanket stitch instead.  Of course, after doing all this the applique foot I ordered from Fabric.com came in yesterday.  Oh well – I plan on taking some time out and doing the applique on my butterfly quilt panels this weekend in between working on commissions.

Remember how I talked about ordering those 3 pound remnant selections from Fabric.com?  I got some amazing fabric!  I can honestly say I loved every single piece (maybe not the tennis one but who knows, I might find a tennis person that will love it).

That frog on the bottom is an entire panel for a crib size quilt.  Very cute.

Here is my list of WIP:

  • Blue/White Lap Quilt Commission – Ready for pressing/basting
  • 5 Dog Ribbon Holder Commissions – Fabric has been selected, ready to begin cutting and piecing.
  • Tree Wallhanging – Cutting out leaves from scrap fabrics that have been ironed to fusible web
  • KE Jelly Roll Mystery Quilt – Moda Origins – still piecing
  • Butterfly Applique Quilt – ready for applique
Scrap Blocks:
  • Crumbs – I have lots of multi-colored crumb blocks and several blue blocks.  No quilt planned yet.
  • Strip Twist Blocks – I have four strip twist blocks in Blue.  The plan is to do some of each color.  Red is waiting to be cut and pieced now.  Also have to do some for a block swap.
  • Square in a Square – I have several blocks pieced, 4 square in a square block to a big block.  I may just pull out a complimentary fabric out of my closet and do a quick quilt top with these to be able to start over fresh.
  • Pinwheel Blocks – I have lots of pinwheel units cut out, 4 blocks pieced.  I need to piece some more blocks together.
I received two gorgeous mug rugs from the Quilting Gallery Mug Rug Swap!
Jodi was my partner and took the time to look at my blog to figure out what I’d like best!  She did such a fantastic job.  She also has a blog, go check it out – Come Tarry With Me.

  1. It's always so fun to read about what we are all up to! That frog fabric is adorable and I can't wait to see more of your quilts.. they sounds really interesting and detailed!! I'll have to find out what a crumb block is too!

  2. I like that purple mug rug and the blue and white quilt looks awesome!

  3. The purple fabrics you got are so pretty! I have a purple quilt in the works, so they always seem to catch my eye.
I will have to investigate the 3 pound deal-y.

  4. That purple mug rug is to die for! Love it! Lots of fun fabric here too – can't wait to see what you do with all of it.

Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday, have a fabulous week!
