I Have Returned!


I’m back!   Sitting on the ship this morning waiting to debark I checked my e-mails and noticed I received two dreaded bandwidth warning messages from my podcast host.  I’ve exceeded my bandwidth!  Good news is it should reset tomorrow and then I’ll investigate upgrading my bandwidth allowance and changing a few other settings.  I may need to limit the number of available episodes for download on iTunes and let people that want to listen from the beginning download them {Read More}

Gnome Gets a Name


robin said… Carl. With his obvious gardeny persona (is gardeny a word?) he reminds me of Carl Linnaeus, the Swedish botanist and zoologist that came up with the method of classifying and naming plants and animals by a genus and species name. He just looks like a Carl. Linnaeus did a fair bit of traveling, too! Congrats Robin!  I e-mailed you to get the address to send fabric.   Now to finish packing and get my nails done….

Free Pattern Friday – Island Inspiration


In honor of my upcoming trip I thought I’d share a pattern inspired by islands! Carol Doak Belize Quilt 30″ x 30″ – paper pieced PDF Instructions with printable template  I’ve never paper pieced anything in my life but this makes me want to try it!  I love mariner star patterns and this one is so colorful. WIP Wednesday


On the table: 3 Dog Ribbon Holders – I’ve cut the background fabric and traced the letters onto the fusible web.  I hope to get almost all of the shapes appliquéd tonight so I can prepare it for quilting by the weekend.  I have a 4th one I want to try to do before I leave but not sure if I’ll have time.
