Photo Update of Projects & Such

All the flowers I’ve sewn together so far and some new petals I’m thread basting. I really like it. Such a fun project. The growing tower of layer cake squares. I’m cutting the yellow fabric now so that will slowly grow to the size of the blue eventually. The cheater wall-hanging panels and the Martelli Quilting Hoops I’ve been talking about in the podcast Some pre-cuts waiting to be shown some love one day!

13 – Guild Meeting, A Disney Trip, New Geeky Game, Magazines

Things I’ve been working on: Cutting fabric and starting blocks for two new lap quilts.  Cutting layer cake blocks is very time consuming…. Put the binding on my Secret Sunbonnet Sue project and labeled it.  Not thrilled with how my label turned out.  I believe I’ll be doing something different next time. Slowly adding flowers to my box of Grandmothers Flower Garden hexagons. It sits on the table beside the couch in the box and I work on them while I watch TV.  I’ve had an idea to create a small sewing jar that will fit inside my purse so I can carry some with me on the go instead of my medium sized tote box....

The Goddess of Scraps

I’m recording my podcast tonight so I’ll talk about this some more in it but I couldn’t wait to blog about it. Bonnie Hunter is coming to my area next month!  I’m signing up to do a class with her.  We are making her “Love Shack” quilt in the class.  She is also doing a trunk show which I will attend and take photos of.  I had to take a day off of work to do it but it’ll be worth it I think! I had a choice between two workshops and this was the smaller piece.  I figured I didn’t need another huge UFO sitting in my closet and this was a quilt involving crumbs...
