I’m seeing more and more quilts featuring triangles of all shapes and sizes so I thought I’d highlight some of the ones that have caught my eye recently.
Joelle’s Triangle Quilt – Great tutorial on how to do a lovely half-square triangle block using HSQ units of all different sizes to make a 12″ square block. I think it would look fantastic with different themes of fabrics. Great scrap quilt potential too!
I think playing with these blocks when they are all finished for an interesting layout could be amazing. Great potential here and the page is full of lovely photo tutorials for how to make the units and such. I heart lovely photo tutorials!
Quiltstory featured a lovely tutorial on how to make this quilt using all half-square triangle units.
There are various methods on how to make half-square triangle units. I recommend trying a few and seeing which one you like best.
Laundry Basket Quilts – Triangle Exchange Paper. These paper templates can be purchased to help you make hundreds of HST units easily and accurately. Lots of quilters use her paper to do “exchanges” since all the sizes should be the same when using the same technique and they sew up really fast! You can see the technique used in The Quilt Show – Episode 802.
Quilts featuring these exchanged triangles can be found in the book “Friendship Triangles” by Edyta Sitar.
