Orca Bay Part 4 = Some Sewing Therapy

Basil on his favorite place in my sewing room!

Yesterday it happened – Basil’s ACL ruptured. I was expecting it to happen as I’d been warned but I didn’t think it would happen this soon. I don’t know what he did or how he did it but that morning he was limping and his leg looked pretty bad. He couldn’t control it at all. I called the orthopedic surgeon and left them a message letting them know it looked like the ligament had torn completely hoping they’d be able to call me back on a Sunday.

I got him comfortable and then we went out to run some quick errands we weren’t able to do on Saturday. The surgeons office called me while I was out and told me to bring him in on Monday.  It looks like he’ll go in this morning, they’ll re-examine his knee, probably do some more x-rays and prep him for surgery tomorrow to repair his ACL.

Needless to say, I was stressed out. I still am.  Orca Bay Part 4 came out on Friday involving lots of string blocks so I settled Basil into the rug in my sewing room and started sewing away on strings to take my mind off of it.

I haven’t trimmed anything yet, I’m going to save that for last. I have lots of pink strings to use up though!  Please send some healing thoughts to Basil.  It’ll be a long 6-8 weeks of recovery for all of us while his ACL heals up.
