My 2012 Goal List

Well this is going to be easy!
Goal #1 – Finish every UFO I have.
That’s it!  Here is my updated priority and status list.
Highest Priority UFOs
  1. Doggie Commission Quilt – Twin Size – I plan to either do snowball blocks with applique in the center or a crazy quilt with applique in the center of different dog breeds.  I’m leaning towards crazy quilt at this point so I can use up lots of different fabrics in my stash. I need to pull and purchase fat quarters for the top, I don’t have a lot of solids so I may have to do some online shopping. DONE!
  2. Quilted Shawl and Muff Tutorial – I’m in the process of piecing the rows.  Need to finish piecing, photographing and then write up the tutorial.  Moda bake shop never contacted me so I’ll assume they aren’t interested in my tutorial.  Oh well!  I’ll share it with you guys that actually want it!
  3. Delectable Delights Jelly Roll Quilt using Moda Origins – I have all the blocks done, I need to sew them together and put some borders on.  I’ve been sitting on this one for a while afraid to finish it because I don’t know what to do for the borders! I need to choose something and have it over with.  I know it is going to look good no matter what I choose.  Karen Kay Buckley is doing a lecture on borders in March so I might wait to observer her lecture and then decide what to do.  DONE!
  4. Butterfly Quilt – I just need to quilt and bind the darn thing! I’m in the process of quilting it.
Medium Priority Projects
  1. Crazy Shortcut Quilt – Magnolia Fabrics – The blocks are all quilted. Need to order sashing fabric for the front and the back and the binding.
  2. Twist and Shout Mystery Quilt – I haven’t even pieced a single block yet. I have units completed for certain things – lots of work left on this one.
  3. Tumbling Blocks Quilt – Aviary by 3 Sisters for Moda – All my tumblers are cut out I just need to begin piecing the rows.
  4. I Spy Quilt – Still piecing blocks together, about halfway done before I can begin sewing rows together.
  5. Jelly Roll Lone Star Quilt -Summer House by Lily Ashbury Fabrics – I have one star completely done (which won’t go into my finished quilt because it is so wonky) and pieces of a 2nd star done that went together much better.  I think this won’t take long to do if I can devote a few weeks to it.
  6. Space Quilt – Husband’s Christmas GiftI really would love to get this quilt done by Christmas so I can give him something special. I don’t think it would be too time consuming to do once I settle on a design. Should probably get to pre-washing the fabrics now so I don’t have one more thing to do that stops me from starting it. Maybe it’ll be done this spring.
  7. Origins by Basic Grey Pinwheel Quilt – I have half the pinwheels pieced. Need to piece the other half, square them up and sew them into a top.
  8. Strip Twist Quilt – I have some scrappy blocks.  I might piece these and use these as part of a backing for another quilt just to get them out of the drawer.  I’m not in love with them.
  9. Orca Bay Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt – I need to complete steps 6 and 7 and then start setting everything together into the quilt top for step 8. I hope I end up liking how everything looks together. Some folks don’t seem to like their fabric choices.  I’m worried about my blue strings not being “blue” enough and coming off as neutral.
  10. Black Floral Panel Wallhanging – need to finish quilting it and then bind it.  Will likely come to work and hang in my office.
  11. Leftover Blue/White 4 Patch Blocks – I’m probably going to sew these into a wall-hanging and add some applique for a little boys room. Not 100% sure on that though.
  12. I heart my Corgi Wallhangings – I have two left to finish and post on Etsy.
Low Priority Projects (Projects not Started yet, thus not considered a UFO)
  1. Quiltsmart Grandmother’s Fan Quilt
  2. Quiltsmart Lone Star Quilt
  3. Delicate Romance Kit – Queen Size Quilt
  4. Lighthouse Pattern – Wall Hanging
  5. Koi Fish Kit
  6. Magnolia Table Runner Kit
  7. Bargello Scrappy Quilt using 2.5″ strips
So here are the projects that I want to finish by March 31, 2012:
  • Doggie Commission Quilt – not yet started
  • Quilted shawl and muff tutorial – in progress
  • Black Floral Wall Hanging – being quilted

Comments

  1. That is quite the list…Mine would be about this long and that would be only the ones I have already started LOL. I have promised someone I would list all my UFOs later this week. What have I gotten myself into? Thanks for playing along?

  2. What a wonderful list of projects to work on! I think I am going to make up a list too!

  3. Your black floral is gorgeous. And I love the colors of the other one. I didn't even bother to list anything I hadn't started yet. (Not that I don't have a list, I was just too embarrased to admit that there will be starts even with my lenghty "to Finish" list.) Can't wait to see them done.
