I’m getting a sewing cabinet!

I’ve been wanting a sewing cabinet for my computerized sewing machine  ever since I got my Singer 201-2 that is built into one and realized how easy it made piecing and quilting! I have an extension table but that isn’t quite the same. The quilts get caught on the corners while I’m FMQing and it gets annoying after a while.

Hubby asked me what I wanted for my birthday/anniversary and I mentioned the sewing cabinet and explained I’d been saving up for one since I found a model I liked.

Here is what I decided on! The cabinet is on its way and the custom fit insert I just ordered for my machine.

Arrow Bertha Sewing Cabinet – Cherry – It has a 3 position airlift and a leaf in the back that moves side to side so that a quilt can be properly supported. I like that there is room on the right for my laptop and thread holder.  The leaf folds out of the way if I don’t need it.  I’m not sure if I’ll leave it up all the time or not.

I saw some of the other cabinets out there that had an extra wing that curved around to the right or the left but that wouldn’t work for my sewing room setup. This will work in my room as it is and leave space for my shelving unit that has my TV on it to fit and make it so I can roll over to sew on my Singer 201-2 if I need to.

Arrow even has an instructional video showing how to assemble it!  I know that’ll come in handy so my husband and I don’t kill each other try to interpret the directions.

I’ll post photos once it arrives and give a review for sure! I’m very excited about it’s arrival.  Maybe it’ll motivate me to finish the butterfly quilt since quilting will be easier. Here is the progress of that project that stalled early this year:
