The Weekend in Pictures

Last night I felt burnt out and flipped on the TV. Normally I don’t just sit and watch TV but I found myself watching E! with the pre-Emmy award coverage.  I think I met my Ryan Seacrest quota for the year.

Right before the Emmys came on I realized I had a quilt to bind so I pulled out Emerald Origins and did a bunch of binding. I got one side almost done. Brought it to work today to do more during lunch.

Basil spent the first 90 minutes of the Emmys trying to catch a black fly that was going all through the living room, kitchen, and office. It was pretty entertaining to see him trotting through the room with his mouth open snapping at the air. I think he tired himself out once he caught it.

On Saturday I took a trip to Tuesday Morning and was kind of glad I’d resisted the urge to go there for so long. That place is dangerous. I left with a Button Bank, a nice set of bias bars, a few bags of colored buttons and a drunkards path rotary cutting template set. I really like the button bank! I spent some time pulling all the colored buttons out of my box and sorting them in the bank.

UntitledI also picked up some monogrammed notecards at Barnes and Noble while I was there getting a replacement charging cord for my Nook. They remind me of Lily Ashbury fabric.

And some new additions to my fabric stash via a sale a Craftsy

Robert Kaufman Posideon fat quarter bundle (21 fat quarters in all)
Moda Bella Silver Jelly Roll that I’ll be pairing with a Moda 30’s jelly roll to do something with. I’m thinking Jacobs ladder blocks.

  1. Interested to see what you do with your Posideon bundle. I want one, but I’m trying to be good…

    • It screams “Storm at Sea” so I might break out my tri-recs ruler and see what I can do with that block. I can use my new Kimberly Einmo book for precuts and just cut all the fat quarters to size.

  2. Tuesday Morning can be a very dangerous place! Fortunately, for me and my checking account, the one closest to me is very spotty and not the best. Sometimes I can score and but most often I can’t.

  3. there’s a Tuesday Morning about a mile from my house, I really should check it out. Thinking I need some yarn so I can make my dad a scarf for Christmas.. or at my knitting speed.. for Christmas 2025
