Easy Street – Here I come!!

I made major progress on Orca Bay over the weekend and now I’m stalled at piecing the border together. While I was cutting out triangles for the border pieces I also cut out strips for Easy Street – Part 1!

We have to make 192 4 patch units that finish at 3″ square. Here are my black and white fabrics and my gray constant:

And this is how far I got before I went to bed:

Easy Street Part 1 Progress

We got a bit distracted last night because we did a Google Hangout from 6PM – 8PM!! It was fun chatting with all my online quilting friends and those that couldn’t join us watched on YouTube and tweeted comments! We recorded the entire session (some of which gets pretty goofy when we figure out how to wear beards and crowns in the chat room) so if you’d like to watch you can. We discuss the EasyStreet mystery several times too.

I’m hoping we can schedule more EasyStreet Hangouts so keep an eye out on Twitter and at our EasyStreet Flickr Group for more info on that. You do need a Google+ account to participate.

The first 20 minutes or so is just me sewing waiting for others to show up and then people start popping in once Jenny got her camera and mic fixed.

  1. SO FUN watching you! Love the french music in the background. How do I find out more about “hang outs”?? This looks like fun!

    • Hi Bonnie!

My online quilting friends just started doing Google Hangouts for our “sew in” days so we can chat and sew together. This was our second attempt at it. I’d like to do a regular weekly hangout for Easy Street folks if I can manage wrangling one together. Sunday nights seem to be easy for me so maybe we can do a regular Sunday night thing. Up to 10 webcams can connect so we can chat but unlimited people can watch the YouTube feed while it’s going live. I usually announce it on my Twitter and Facebook page when we go live so others can join us. All you need is a Google+ account to join. The session is recorded so people can watch it again afterwards.

I’ll e-mail you when we start another one if you’d like to join in or just watch.

It was fun watching and listening to y’all while sewing myself. And you got a comment from Bonnie Hunter! How fun. You re a mover and a shaker, Katie.

  3. Hi Katie!
I listen to your podcast on my way to work. 🙂 I think it’s great you decided to work on Easy Street (I was silently telling you to when I was listening a few weeks ago.) lol Looking good! Maybe I’ll make a hangout sometime.

  4. You have a fantastic array of black/white prints there! The computer meetups are loads of fun.
