The Big Quilt Show Photo Post!!

Well I survived my very first quilt show and it turned out fantastic! Everyone worked really hard to put this show on and I think we all deserve a huge pat on the back (or glass of wine) in celebration. I took lots of photos throughout the day and here are my best 192 shots of our show!

This quilt was chosen as “Best of Show” by our judge:

Cypress Creek Quilters Guild - November 2012 - Quilt Show - "A Garden of Quilting Delights"

And this quilt was Viewer’s Choice for the show! A lovely “quilt as you go” wholecloth quilt:

This is Rafters the cat that lives at the Botanical Gardens. He came to rub on the quilt I just bought at the auction when I set it on the picnic table.

My “Modern Garden” quilt sold for $65 at the quilt show auction:

And I made some purchases! I bought a quilt at the auction that I liked, a chicken thread catcher, a “treasure map” panel and a log cabin flannel top that I’m going to quilt and probably give away as a gift at some point.

Hubby woke up so my Veteran’s Day Sew In has come to an end. I’ll be cleaning and reorganizing tomorrow as I put up my newly painted pegboards. That’ll be in a different post though!

  5. WOW thanks for sharing your quilt show pictures. Saw your Rainbow Insomnia, some of your bowls, the fabulous ribbons you made, and the “viewers choice” label you embroidered. Your creative touches are everywhere. The 9 patch quilt with lime green and the viewers choice wholecloth quilt also caught my eye. Thanks again, Katie.

  6. What fantastic quilts, thanks for sharing so much inspiration with us. Well done on selling your quilt. The resident cat is cute.
Apart from it all, thank you so much for the podcast and the blog posts which always inspire me…

  7. YOUR quilt show looks lovely and I am sure you worked hard at it. I am jealous because we have never been able to have an out door quilt show. It looks like fun. The quilts looked interesting and I saw several that gave me great ideas. Such diversity in styles. I enjoyed your pictures.
