A Little Iron Caddy

I’ve been wanting to make a little iron caddy for a while so that when I go to a sew day or a class I can pack up my hot iron and go without having to wait on it to cool. This is a great pattern and I really enjoyed making this cute caddy! The pattern comes with enough heat resistant liner to make one caddy. It’s not difficult to do and I learned how to bind odd angles which was fun.  I used some of my fabric I bought on my Panama City trip that I took with my Mom last year.

It would be a great gift for people that travel a lot and take their irons with them. They have a junior size too for the small travel irons.

  1. I have one of these and really like it. The cool thing is that the very same pattern, made in the large size, works wonderfully for a diaper bag/changing mat for a new parent. Just use waterproof padding instead of the insulated lining. I have made the diaper bag version a couple of times with great results.

  2. I’ve got one of these too, and love it! Works perfectly and I even have an extra surface to iron on, if I need it! I really need to make the junior size, though, for my small travel iron. It fits in the big one, but just sort of swims around in there. 😀

  3. It looks fantastic! I have the pink polka dot binding fabric :))) Your caddy looks adorable with the button! I was just thinking about making a cover for mine. I haven’t used it so long it started to collect dust :))) Thanks for the pattern recommendation!

  4. I have never seen one of these!!! I need to carry my iron in style. Must have:)
