Stashing & Tampa Bay Comic Con

I’m sad my vacation is coming to an end. Tomorrow I’m back to work! I thought I’d share some recent fabric purchases that I’ve made during August. This is a combination of shopping at local quilt shops and a fat quarter shop 12 lb fabric bundle, as well as a few fabric panel bundles.

On Friday I stopped by Tampa Bay Comic Con by myself since Ringo was at home awaiting computer parts for our new computers. I met author Hugh Howey and got my books signed in person. Such a nice guy! I didn’t really know what to say so I just kind of thanked him for writing such great stuff. He was surprised at my galley bound copy of Wool and asked me where I got it from.

I also got to meet a great corgi artist Christian Slade that lives sort of close to Tampa. I’ve been following his work for quite a while and have one of his signed books. I ended up purchasing one of his corgi/fairy prints while I was there and chatting with him a bit.

My quilting studio is temporarily doubling as a PC building space while Ringo puts together our new computers. Mine is all done and it’s been a bit of an adjustment organizing my old data and working with the new system. So far I love it. Much, much faster. Processing photos in Lightroom is super quick now. Looking forward to editing the first podcast episode on the new system.

I cleaned my machine from the recent Tinkertote project and started a new one that’s 25% smaller and I’m using all Riley Blake Geekly Chic fabrics this time.

Geekly Chic Tinkertote start

Taking my time with this one. Trying to clean up my sewing room in the meantime. It got to be a bit of a mess during the week.

  1. I love the “old school” Tinkertote with the cassette tapes and old fashioned TVs!

  2. Look at all the fun you’ve been having. I’ve always wanted to go to Comic Con just to see everything. Annnnddddddd a new computer. Don’t remind me about cleaning my machine. I’m sure it’s full of yuck.

  3. Happy birthday! Lucky you, New computers, fun food and more! Thanks so much for the great copyright info too. It really helped me understand some of the finer points. Good luck on all your new classes, it sounds like a lot of work, but satisfying. Keep up the great work, you’re very inspiring to me, and I’m sure others as well. Thanks!
