Fun in Lonestar class

Saturday was my first time teaching the QuiltSmart Lonestar class and we had a ball! It was a small class so everyone had plenty of room to spread out which was great. Two of the students had the same first name and brought very similar fabrics to work with! I also decided to start a mini-lonestar using the QuiltSmart Bitty Broken Lonestar kit and some fabrics I chose (a combo of Noteworthy by Sweetwater and Moda Grunge by Basic Grey).

A fun version that uses smaller segments and only 4 fabrics for the star sections.

One lone star point done! Love the combo of Noteworthy and Grunge fabrics – just needs a good pressing

Cindy’s Civil War/Patriotic fabrics look great

Ellen chose to do a fun Halloween lone star!

Such a cute line of Halloween fabrics

The Other Cindy is working with a jelly roll and cute primitive prints

Almost half a star done in class! Lots more sections to do though

  1. OK that Halloween Lonestar is GORGEOUS! Love that fabric, I have those little knitting witches print too. So happy you’re teaching and seem to be enjoying it Katie! What a great way to build skills, and your quilt-related teaching resume.

  2. Oh I am crazy over Noteworthy! I love them all but that one is my favorite.

  3. I love your sudents’ stars Katie! And your fabrics are gorgeous! Well done on teaching it, you should be proud! 🙂

  4. Well done Katie. Thrilled that you Are teaching. You would be a great teacher. Peggy

  5. Those are so cute! Especially love the Halloween one and the Noteworthy colors 🙂

  6. Great job teaching the Quiltsmart lone star, they look great!
