Yin-Yang Quilt Progress

I finished the small 15″ blocks for this quilt last week and I’m now gearing up to do the large 30″ blocks. Last night I laid all the blocks out to see them together for the first time. I’m really happy with my fabric choices now seeing it together. The large blocks will add even more to the completed look and the quilt top will likely have a 4″ border around it of scrappy rectangles and squares. It’s going to be hard to hand this one over when it’s finished I can tell.

My template system made this process much faster to whip out 22 blocks. Doing the machine applique stitch was interesting since the inner circles are a bit tricky to stitch out using a zigzag so they still look round. I definitely got my circle applique practice in on these blocks.

I made too many of the small blocks so I’m leaning towards making some throw pillows to accompany the quilt when the client picks it up.

  1. This is amazing. I am sure the picture does not do it justice. I can’t wait to see it finished.

The muted colors you chose are so beautiful,
and I love the design. I can see why it will be hard to part with this quilt.
