2013 Quilty Goals List

2013 is my year of freedom. Free to do what I want. Free to work on what I want. I’m resolving to first and foremost not commit myself to anything I don’t want to do. My 2012 list didn’t see much progress. I think that’s mostly because I got bogged down with other things and didn’t find much time to really sew. This year is going to be different but I’m also not going to focus on a list that hard. Finish all quilts that are currently in the process of being quilted. Right now these quilts are the Butterfly Quilt, A corgi wallhanging, and a Riley Blake panel.. Put a border on Orca Bay and send...

My 2012 Goal List

Well this is going to be easy! Goal #1 – Finish every UFO I have. That’s it!  Here is my updated priority and status list. Highest Priority UFOs Doggie Commission Quilt – Twin Size – I plan to either do snowball blocks with applique in the center or a crazy quilt with applique in the center of different dog breeds.  I’m leaning towards crazy quilt at this point so I can use up lots of different fabrics in my stash. I need to pull and purchase fat quarters for the top, I don’t have a lot of solids so I may have to do some online shopping. DONE! Quilted Shawl and Muff Tutorial – I’m in...

Fabric Diet Update

The Beautiful Reorganized Fabric Closet I’ve made it past the 2 week mark on my fabric diet! So far two people have decided to join me – Celia and Jill! They both e-mailed me their goals so we’re gonna support eachother through this very difficult time.  Jill said she wants to try to diet until February when she goes to a big quilt show. Send positive thoughts to all of us please! I’ve made all sorts of progress on my goals during my diet.  Right now I think I’m really proud of how my fabric closet looks and the fact that I can see all my fabric at a glance! I purchased some stuff from QuiltSmart...

WIP Wednesday – I’m BACK!

I’m not sure where to start I’ve been so busy! Here is a summary of my week: Projects finished: 5 (3 twin quilts, 2 mug rugs) Works in Progress: 6 (Cardigan wallhanging, butterfly quilt, Moda Origins Jelly Roll Quilt, Twist and Shout Mystery Quilt, Aviary charms tumbling blocks quilt, jelly roll lone star quilt) Stuff on hold: 2 (strip twist blocks, tilted 4 patch blocks)  I guess I’ll start with the major project and work my way down. The quilting on my butterfly quilt is going slow.  I’m taking my time with it so I don’t mess up the feathers.  Before I do a section I take it off the machine and stare at it to...

Go on a Diet with Me!

It’s that time of year that everyone dreads sticking to a diet.  Holidays are coming up and that means parties, luncheons, family dinners and treats. I’m not talking about that kind of diet though! I’m talking about a fabric diet. One of my 2011 goals was to go on a fabric diet for two months.  I didn’t plan on it to be consecutive but I’m going to give it my best shot.  I’m not making holiday gifts this year unless they use the stash I already have. Want to join me? You don’t have to do anything special. All you need to do is write a short blog post talking about your fabric diet.  You can...

14 – A Quilted Fabric Basket, Upcoming Swaps, How to Task Manage Your Crafts

Procrastination Project of the Week: Quilted Fabric Bowl This is the fabric basket from my recent Free Pattern Friday post.  It is reversible.  The only issue I had was when I zig-zagged the edges some of the batting was poking through.  Not sure how to solve that quite yet. Note to self:  Make sure to test a chalk pencil before actually using it to draw lines.  The Dritz Dressmakers mechanical pencil worked great until you tried to wipe the chalk off the fabric after stitching on top of it.  Not happy!  At least it was on this and not on a quilt or something.  My quest to find a good quilting pencil continues. Cutting out all...

Goals for 2011

Don’t Call Me Betsy is doing a great thing hosting a 2011 goal blog post linkup.  I love lists and I love goals so of course I’m going to participate.  I’m limiting myself to 12 goals for the year.   More classes.   I want to take at least 3 classes in 2011 and develop some new skills, learn new patterns and piece new blocks.  I’m already signed up for one the first week of January so there is one out of the way right there.  Joining a quilt guild already has its benefits – especially if you sit up front and get a hold of the signup sheet first before it fills completely.   Reorganize quilting space...
