The Big Quilt Show Photo Post!!

Well I survived my very first quilt show and it turned out fantastic! Everyone worked really hard to put this show on and I think we all deserve a huge pat on the back (or glass of wine) in celebration. I took lots of photos throughout the day and here are my best 192 shots of our show! This quilt was chosen as “Best of Show” by our judge: And this quilt was Viewer’s Choice for the show! A lovely “quilt as you go” wholecloth quilt: This is Rafters the cat that lives at the Botanical Gardens. He came to rub on the quilt I just bought at the auction when I set it on the...

Guild Challenge Quilts

I have to share photos of the wonderful challenge quilts that were revealed by our guild at the meeting tonight.  We have so many talented quilters in our group and it was so awesome to see the different designs they came up with. I’ve got a few deadlines I need to meet and can’t really record while I’m doing applique unfortunately (someone invent a way to podcast and sew at the same time please). My challenge quilt for my guild is due in less than 4 weeks and I’ve got lots of work left to do on it.  So much stitching to be done before I can baste and quilt it.  I do plan on doing a fair amount of quilting in the background and on the borders too. Nothing has been applique stitched yet, I’ve just fused it to the background.  Wednesday I plan to start stitching things down.  I think I’ve hidden the “ugly” challenge fabrics we...
