Stashing & Tampa Bay Comic Con

I’m sad my vacation is coming to an end. Tomorrow I’m back to work! I thought I’d share some recent fabric purchases that I’ve made during August. This is a combination of shopping at local quilt shops and a fat quarter shop 12 lb fabric bundle, as well as a few fabric panel bundles. On Friday I stopped by Tampa Bay Comic Con by myself since Ringo was at home awaiting computer parts for our new computers. I met author Hugh Howey and got my books signed in person. Such a nice guy! I didn’t really know what to say so I just kind of thanked him for writing such great stuff. He was surprised at...

Photos from the Cruise! (Very pic heavy)

I’ve had a trying few days so I didn’t get this post up as fast as I thought I would (if you’re on Twitter or FB you know why). Long story short – Bernie is having some orthopedic issues with one of her legs and on top of that she may or may not have cancer. We don’t know yet. Thanks for those of you sending good healing thoughts and prayers her way! She’s doing better on anti-inflammatories and pain meds so we should find out more in a month or so. Anyway – on to some of my favorites from the cruise! If you want to watch the full slideshow of 466 photos here it...

I’m on a Boat!

Well today I leave behind Florida for a bit! I will have a full podcast to update everyone on my adventures when I return. I need a break from prepping for my vacation (dog sitters, house sitter, packing… lists!) and it’s finally here. If you want to keep in touch with me on board you can leave me messages here on the Carnival Forum in my special thread: http://www.carnival.com/Funville/forums/t/259707.aspx You do have to have an account to post so it’s okay if that’s too much trouble – feel free to read my updates! I should be updating once a day with what we’ve done so it’s easier for me to blog when I get back.

13 – Guild Meeting, A Disney Trip, New Geeky Game, Magazines

Things I’ve been working on: Cutting fabric and starting blocks for two new lap quilts.  Cutting layer cake blocks is very time consuming…. Put the binding on my Secret Sunbonnet Sue project and labeled it.  Not thrilled with how my label turned out.  I believe I’ll be doing something different next time. Slowly adding flowers to my box of Grandmothers Flower Garden hexagons. It sits on the table beside the couch in the box and I work on them while I watch TV.  I’ve had an idea to create a small sewing jar that will fit inside my purse so I can carry some with me on the go instead of my medium sized tote box....
